5 easy steps to a basic vanilla sponge cake recipe without oven.
Ingredients:
Maida - 1 1/2 cup
Eggs - 4
Butter - 3/4 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
To grease pan: Butter - 1 tbsp
Method:
Step 1: Prepare the ingredients.
Step 2: Blend all the ingredients (except Maida) in a mixer jar. Add the blended mixture and maida in a bowl and mix well without any lumps.
Step 3: Take a cotton cloth and cut it to fit inside the bottom of the cake pan. Grease the cake pan with butter and place the cotton cloth. Add cake batter.
Step 4: Take a wide pan/pot and place a metal stand inside. Cover it with a lid and Heat the pan in medium-high flame for 5 mins. Place the cake pan inside and bake in very low flame for 40-50 mins. Use a toothpick or knife and poke at the center of the cake to check if it is cooked properly. Remove from heat and let it to cool down.
Step5: Heat a knife and cut the cake into desired shapes with smooth edges.
