Most Arduino tutorials have this major problem

This mistake has been made on almost every Arduino tutorial I have seen and has caused me to learn programming wrong, or at least poor programming. It wastes memory and on a platform with limited amounts of memory was one of the many things I did wrong which caused me to quickly run out well before my project was finished.
